In Feburary 2018, during the visitation of Director General Maria Christine to India, the 50th anniversary of the founding of our Institute in Ernakulam was celebrated.

A festive mass was held, celebrated by numerous priests, among others 2 vicars general. One vicar general presented us with a jubillee standard. The festive homily was held by a relative of Stella’s, who is a very good preacher. The chaplain of the parish was also present.

Regional Director and General Assistant Adelaide gave a very informative introductory speech about our Institute. The festivities were filmed by a film team and many people from the parish attended, who were all invited to the meal afterwards. There were about 150 people.

Our gift after mass was a prayer of blessing with a picture of Madonna della Strada and Miraculous Medals, which were carried to the altar during the offertory and then placed for all to help themselves at the end of mass. They were glad to take the medals home. There were about 200 of them and all were gone.

Stella had decorated the garden of the hostel, which is behind the church, with many little blue lights. It was divine – all the loving preparations for this celebration.

It was a very memorable occassion.
