Our members in Korea, Sr. Jemma and Sr. Modesta, work in their living environment. Through the work of the Holy Spirit women in Korea also heard about our Institute and wanted to live their lives in the world according to our constitution.

Unlike the custom in Europe, all Christians of the parish are addressed as brother and sister. Therefore this is also the case with our members.

Sr. Modesta lives form the proceeds of a small farm in the hills, despite her studies. She likes to pass on her experience of living and praying with and in nature – contemplation in action as it is called with Ignatius.

People who want to learn to pray in daily life and appreciate her advice visit her, as they would a hermit. Part of this advice also refers to enjoying life in nature.

Outside of her job Sr. Jemma also teaches English to pupils from Catholic and non-Catholic families in her language lab. She wants to help the young people to find good jobs through their language skills.

The motto of her class is “pray and learn”. The lessons begin and end with a prayer. Pupils learn to do their work with prayer – again contemplation in action.

The two members meet once a month for sharing, regular contact to their spiritual fathers is also very important.

Several times per year Inday, the regional assistant from the Philippines, visits to deepen their understanding of the spirituality of the Institute.
